LOVE is all around…

Well, we finally said good bye to January and HELLO, February!! February is a month to celebrate. Celebrate Chinese New Year, Black History Month, American Heart Month, National Library Lover’s Month, Valentines, and Galentines. I have never been one for huge celebrations - when I was younger, I even avoided them or downplayed them. But, as I have gotten older and realize how precious every day is and how we do hard things every day to keep moving forward, I have embraced celebrating. I still don’t celebrate in big ways, but I don’t let a special day go past without acknowledging it, respecting it, and appreciating it.

I know there is a lot of commercialism to Valentine’s Day, but I have come to love celebrating love - love of all kinds. LOVE for yourself, LOVE for your romantic partner, LOVE for your community, LOVE for your family, LOVE for your girlfriends. We need more LOVE. We need to celebrate LOVE more. We need to show up in love, for love, with love, and be love. Love needs to be a verb. Love needs to be action. If you have ever been married, then you know love isn’t always a walk in the park. Love takes commitment, choice, loyalty, work, and compromise. Why wouldn’t we take a day to CELEBRATE that?

I also love how Galentine’s has become a thing. As a midlife woman, I can tell you that your girlfriends - your circle - are important. They are like sisters - the family you choose. As an only child, my girlfriends are my sisters. Friendship is so important - girlfriends are sacred. Why don’t we celebrate people more? Why don’t we honor our relationships more? Life is too short. Love your people. I am so here for it.

Love.

Just love MORE.

There’s more than enough.

Show up in love, to love, with love, for love.

Be love, feel love, see love, hear love.

Love in ACTION.

Just LOVE.

Not only can you plan your own February Celebrations and show up in love everyday - including Valentine’s Day and Galentine’s Day, but there are also some other local events already planned that you can participate in!

Journey to Breakthrough: Somatic Yoga and Breathwork

A somatic yoga class designed to bring balance to the body and the mind through holding poses and exploring what each pose has to offer you. When we slow down, we relax the nervous system, focus on our breath, and become more emotionally, mentally, and physically resilient. Followed by a somatic breathwork session to release what no longer serves us and create space and breathe in more of what we want and need - A powerful practice to connect within, reduce stress, and regulate the nervous system.
