Things to do in December

What do you think of when you think of December?? Lights? Hot Cocoa? Santa? Most of us love adding in some holiday adventure and fun with friends and family this month and here are some local events to add to your list!

And be sure to include some intentional time for reflection, rest, and goal setting for the new year!

Create your 2025 Vision!! Join us at Siren Beauty & Wellness on Main St Buda for some dreaming, sharing, setting goals, and creating your 2025 Vision Board.

We will hear from the amazing Becky Torres, owner and founder of Siren, about being brave and creating the life you want.

Courtney and I will guide you to set your 2025 vision and goals and lead you in an exercise to manifest them!

Bring a poster board and any photos you want to use! We will have snacks, drinks, magazines, glue, and scissors and A LOT OF FUN!

Kyle:

This holiday season, the City of Kyle is lighting the way with holiday displays all over town including brand new displays at La Verde Park and along FM 150, as well as Lake Kyle and Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park during the following dates and times: 

  • Mary Kyle Hartson Park: Dec. 1 – Jan. 1 from 5:30 p.m. - 7 a.m.  

  • Lake Kyle Park: Dec. 1 – Jan. 1 from 5:30 a.m. - 7 a.m. 

  • La Verde Park: Dec. 1 – Jan. 1 from 5:30 a.m. - 7 a.m. 

The city will also host several Christmas-related events. More information on those can be seen below and at cityofkyle.com/recreation/page/winter-events-activities.   

25 Days of Christmas  

Beginning Sunday, Dec. 1 and going until Wednesday, Dec. 22, the City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department will host the 25 Days of Christmas at Mary Kyle Hartson City Square Park, 101 S. Burleson St.  

The 25 Days of Christmas includes nightly holiday lights, Christmas music (including live music), and local vendors. Residents can stroll along downtown Kyle any night of the week or check out one of the following theme nights: 

  • Thursdays Date Nights: Join us on date night Thursday with that special person. Enjoy live music, food and drink vendors and holiday lights.  

  • Family Fun Fridays: Spend your Friday night with the family at Kyle Kandy Land and enjoy crafts and activities for kids along with lights and holiday music! Photos with Santa opportunities on Friday, Dec. 6 and Dec. 13.  

  • Shopping Saturdays: Check out market and food and drink vendors and enjoy live music during our holiday night market on Saturday, Dec. 14 and 21.  

  • Social Sundays: The City of Kyle Parks and Recreation Department is celebrating Social Sundays. To take part, stop by the park, enjoy a lawn game or two, take pictures of you and your loved ones and share it with the hashtag #KyleParksandRecreation.

Christmas Movie in the Park: 

Join us for a showing of Elf (PG, 97 min.) under the twinkling lights and on the big screen outdoors at Lake Kyle Park, 700 Lehman Rd., on Friday, Dec. 13 at 6 p.m. Bring the whole family, a blanket to stay warm, something to sit on (chairs are allowed), and enjoy the holiday lights, music, and food and drink vendors.
